An award winning, Premiere Seven piece (lead guitar, rhythm guitar, acoustic guitar, bass, piano, steel, drums) country band from Motor City?   You bet!

Gunslinger’s    musical style is honest, simple traditional country!  It is flavored in Blues with the inspirational energy of Southern Gospel and the smoothness of Western Swing, cooked up at the right tempo!

The base members of this talented group are Randy Mac and Fate Dotson.

Mac as a studio and road musician, songwriter and singer. Dotson as a lead singer, musician and songwriter, they take back seat to no one, in Motor City or…Music City they have paid their dues and earned respected positions in the business of music and song.

Lead Guitarist and Utility Man RANDY MAC: born of Native American Decent (Cherokee) in Carbon Hill, Alabama now residing in Warren, Michigan. Mac’s career influences are many and varied; his childhood was filled with Native American and gospel music and songs. Sunday gatherings in Carbon Hill on the farm of “big momma and big daddy” as his grandparents were affectionately called. Big momma played piano, while big daddy wailed on the harp (harmonica). Randy’s father, one of a family of nine played lap steel and the rest played piano, fiddle and guitar.

Randy’s hunger for music carried him into the rock, Rhythm and blues of Motown ! His first paying job was at the age of twelve with a bang called Little Joe and the Sensations. They were booked to play at a Knights of Columbus Hall teen dance, Lincoln Park, Michigan. At fourteen Randy’s band managed by his father, inked a record deal with the Motown people.

At sixteen, Randy moved from Motown to MGM Records and that deal lasted until other members decided to go with John Mellencamp, the fabulous Thunderbirds and Mitch Rider. Randy then was recruited to play for the British group known as Jerry and The Pacemakers. He was unable to accept this lucrative offer: parental concern stepped in saying,  “School first—Career later”

Randy, unflapped by the happenings, formed another band called Mac Flak and worked six nights a week at a popular Dearborn, Michigan Nightclub.

During this same period, he hosted Saturday Night Rock, a live television show on NBC airing after The Johnny Carson show

Again, Randy was offered a record deal, this time with Capricorn Records.
